The dependency of the teachers' role in teaching learning process carried out by students is one crucial problems Indonesia. On other hand, this digital age, independence needed for students. Students who only depend on teacher class will be left behind and make slower progress their achievement. Classroom time limited, so learners are encouraged to take responsibility own learn independently beyond classroom. This called self-directed (SDL). study aims at describing students’ perception Self- Directed Learning (SDL) English using Youtube Video. method used descriptive qualitative research. participant third- semester Informatics Management Program Stekom University Semarang. data were collected a questionnaire. findings showed that most enjoy implementation SDL but they still need tutor process.
